A Sunny Kitchen

My kitchen has been browish red for the past 7 years...long before I discovered vintage.  I've wanted to paint it a cream color so that it is always a canvas for whatever inspiration strikes each season.  My sweet husband took one of his precious vacation days and painted it for me. (I am painting challenged)  I love it!  Now the vintage colors POP!

Seafood Vingettes

Don't know what it is...but seafood vintage is what I've been finding.  Everything here all together was less then $1.25!

Using what I find

What a fantastic weekend.  Had a yard sale and went to a couple sales and the Swap Meet.  I immediately displayed the things I'm keeping.  Nothing was more than a buck!

Who says an old mail holder can't go in the bathroom.  It's perfect!

Love it!

This will keep the marshmallows for our fires.  I already have a Hershey tin for the chocolate.

Birthday candles and supplies are a new thing I'm loving!

Straws from my childhood

I found all this Pyrex this weekend!  Most at the same "grandma's house" yard sale

I have always wanted this towel since I saw it on pinterest!

Dish Vignette

For me, yard sales and thrifting are not about getting a bunch of stuff...in fact I sell a lot of it.  It's about creativity.  It's about seeing something and getting a decorating idea.  It's about using the old and forgotten in a new way to brighten and cheer without spending a lot of money...or in most cases getting it free (as in, I sell stuff and pay for what I keep and have extra to help my family... that is thrilling to me!)

One Vintage Dish Rack for 25 cents, and a collection of thrifted pretty plates...
